It varied a lot, but the daily pattern was maybe more regular and 
predictable. In the morning, when the sunspots started heating the 
floor, the turbulence close to the floor was quite severe, and soon 
after that the drift was severe. Good enough to make your model drift 
across the floor in 3 minutes, so at around 11am you had to be 
constantly steering to keep the model off the downwind wall. But often 
towards the end of the round the drift faded away. I guess it was no 
accident that Lutz always flew at the last minutes of the round... The 
evening round was better, possibly some drift to start with but towards 
the end conditions usually were good, if not perfect.
