Another suggestion. I've often read on this discussion group of expenses. When we were flying at Columbia we put up an exhibit about indoor flying. It was up for a month and the high point of the exhibit was that it was up the night of the awarding of the Pulitzer Prizes; the ceremony was delayed and had to be called to order because the guests were all hung up in seeing the exhibit.
So, go to the top for donations for anything relating to indoor. We received plenty of money to put up the exhibit from Rolls Royce. Their aircraft division was more than happy to donate what we needed and when asked what sort of recognition they would like suggested just a small card in an exhibit case would do. The point is that there are all sorts of aircraft industry companies with discretionary money available for donations and if you're willing to acknowledge them they are actually anxious to help out.
I never considered myself to be gifted at fund raising but all I had to do was ask and I was invited to meet with the man in charge at RR. They actually made it easy and suggested that if I any more help they would put me in touch with others in the industry. A side effect of the support from industry is that a donation can often be accompanied by publicity by the donor.
