Returning to an old subject.

While visiting my local hardware store, I bumped into a small soldering
iron made by (German company) Stannol. 12 volts, 7.5 watts, the iron is
shorter than a pencil, and some 2 to 3 mm in diameter. Seemed to work
nice for covering some new F1D models. It has a lead, which is a slight
shortcoming, but the light lead is not as heavy as for 220 (or 110) volt
irons. Actually, with current less than one ampere, one could install a
lithium battery for a handle and make it portable...
