Musta been mid 90s, before I was online, so probably read in a club newsletter, which everyone knows is as reliable as the internet. Around the same time I recall having a bunch of ruined (outdoor) motors, so maybe jumped on the correlation as causation. Maybe not a valid belief if no one else agrees today. I'm talking green soap and glycerine product which used to be called "FAI (Supply) Slick Lube." But if your "FAI Sil-Slick" is silicone based, then we're talking two different things. Either way, I should start experiements all over again. I expect a lubed, bagged motor to be still fine at least 5 years later if in otherwise good environment.
