I agree with Mark. I think some people will come to fly their favorite
model even if it's not a contested event. Maybe some organizers are
afraid that prizes will run up the cost of the event but there really
isn't a need for prizes or trophies. At Kent they just print up
certificates for the winners and even that isn't really necessary. Being
there and flying is what's important.
