Hi Bill, originally I did weigh down the boron ends (in a straight line) on wax paper or glass, wicked CA into the joint area, broke the tag ends off, reinforced joint with the thinnest wisp of Kevlar thread. Nowadays, I figure on a couple extra inches of boron for the tag ends, in order to do it all in the air. With the two ends laying straight against each other in one hand, I lash the joint 2-3 wraps with Kevlar FIRST, then harden the Kevlar with CA. Then break off tag ends. The joint gets covered with film, so keep that spot as small as possible. I enjoy .0056" boron for this application. Got mine around 2000 from what's now A2z corp., don't know if they still sell .0056" boron.
PS. Try the wax paper and CA method first, I suppose. As with some things indoor, the first try takes an hour, the third try two minutes.
