Re: Bostonians and No-Cals
I think people need to stop keeping it to themselves and speak up
against those who want to dumb down indoor. It is very obvious to me
that what drives an indoor duration modeler is not the same as what
drives a FAC modeler and here is a prime example. At the recent indoor
meet in Flint a guy looked at our nocals and asked how we got them so
light, we told them the fuselage was a rolled tube he said "Oh man I
could never do that." and walked away. That is fine, his choice and I
have no issue with that as he seemed happy with his models and good for
him. So why is it bad for me to enjoy seeing a slow flying nocal? Indoor
models are suppose to be light and graceful, not thrashing about the sky
and clunking the floor when they land. That is one if not THE major
appeals to indoor flying, the slow majestic flight. For some to suggest
we need to alter our hobby to appeal to others who are not interested in
our hobby is what is really "absurd".
