You can probably guess from our F1M discussions that I never met a motor
stick that was too strong. I cut mine mostly from 1/8" sheet but this
can vary depending on the individual piece of wood. I cut out a bunch of
sticks, sand them down to around 300 mg and then test them. I look for
over 200 grams in a column bending test. After testing I rank them for
strength and use the best ones.

There can be a big variation in the worthiness of a bunch of sticks cut
from the same sheet of wood so I just cut and test from different sheets
until I find good ones. I try to keep up with the sheet and location in
the sheet for the good sticks in case more good ones can be found close
by.I haven't used indoor wood for motor sticks for a long time.

My best LPP motor stick came from a super strong but too heavy blank
that I cut for F1L.
