What sort of temperatures should the cautery use; how much current
through the tip? I got my hands on a replacement cautery tip, but I
suppose that is for a high-temp one. Maybe setting a larger rheostat in
series, or using pulse-width modulation to cut down the effective
voltage, would make this tip a useful film cutter?
