Good catch. Joshua probably knew the right name, but I think I just asked a few other people afterwards while I was getting ready to write.

There are probably going to be a fair number of other mistakes, too, though. I finished each one at about 3am, going by memory and prodding my roomate Dennis Tyson for info :)

I try to be a lot more diligent in my other writings, but NatsNews is less of an accurate chronicle and more of a way to make people jealous who aren't there. It worked with Buxton - he's already planning for next year's event.

BTW - news of the Nats-at-Johnson-City's demise has been greatly exaggerated (by me included)

The site has received some nice updates: the ceiling above the girders has been repaired and refinished, there are new basketball murals at the entrance, etc. The school is obviously putting some money into it, which is good.

They love having us there. They know all about our requirements and make sure the air is off and that power-walkers aren't tearing around the track.

Johnson City itself is looking better than ever. There are lots of great new places to eat and hang out.

It is centrally located in the highest population density portion of the country - driving distance from Florida, Maine, and the eastern mid-west.

We are working to build up some other national level contests in other parts of the country (to collect together the local critical-mass groups of participants, which is a separate set of projects), but the Nats at Johnson City is here to stay.

Next year we will be having "bring a buddy to USIC". Not sure what that will mean exactly yet. Maybe some kind of contest, or maybe a discount, or maybe just something to focus on. Anyone have any cool ideas along those lines?

We'll have a tentative date soon. Start making plans to attend. And figure out which buddy you are going to work on. You've got a year to get them ready :)
