Re: helium

I've called several party stores and gas supply places in Johnson City and Kingsport. They all say the same thing: due to the shortage they aren't selling to consumers currently - just hospitals and such.

They have the cheapo toy tanks, but those won't really work for us. They are $50 and will barely fill one balloon. Plus, I believe they have what's called "party gas", which is a mix of helium and something else, and doesn't have as much lift.

Now, I've called a party supply place near me, and they *do* have tanks they will rent me. Problem is, I don't have enough space to transport a 300cf tank. My fall-back option is to rent the next size smaller, which is all the way down to a 40cf tank. That's just enough for my steering balloon and a retrieval balloon. But, I'm trying to find an option that will cover everyone else, too.

The best option I can think of at this point is to find someone who has enough space to bring a tank, and who lives in an area that has places willing to rent us a tank.
