A-6 minimum weight

Don mentioned, “when I built my A-6 the total c-paper was 200 mg of the
model weight the heavier c-paper is about 1.7 times heavier so about
340 mg in weight which would mean you will be about 1.24 gr without
special indoor wood. So it is doable but not as easy.”

That last sentence caught my eye. Has anyone considered raising the A-6 minimum weight requirement? Now, I know to some of you “lightists” this will seem utterly heretical, but in keeping with the original intent of this event, I believe it would make sense. Must this event be, as others are, “doable but not easy”? A tweak of the weight rule would make A-6 more attractive to beginners. What is the problem with having one “easy” event in indoor rubber? As for even mentioned VP props as a possibility in this event is absurd. Yes, I’ve flown A-6 years ago when it first appeared.
