Yes, in the "expert" events. You don't need light and stiff wood for LPP. F1L, another "beginner" event, requires moderately light wood.

No event requires Y2K or Y2K2 to meet weight. But those who have some and use it have a small advantage in that weight can be distributed elsewhere for strength.

5/99 is not needed to be competitive at most contests, but 5/99 or 3/02 are needed to win the World Championship in F1D.

Light C-paper is only needed for one event, an expert event called A6.

I think in general, the rules are pretty good. We can improve A6 rules if we want to.

I think many of us would like to see indoor grow, and improvements are always welcome. We have different ideas about how to improve and grow.
