On my latest models I used boron on the wing center sections. After
cutting the spars, I added boron on one side first (supporting the spar
against glass plate tabletop and a steel ruler), then flipped over and
made the other side. Currently my tails do not have boron, but they are
far more flexible than the wings, so I have considered adding some boron
also to tailplane center spars to add some rigidity. They can handle the
flight OK, but walking the model from pits to the start site is really
slow... My tails have up-turned tips, so the center sections are one
piece and only slightly bent, hence adding boron should be easy for the
straight spars.
