Paul, the flat plate props will work well. That is what is used on a Hangar Rat. I just sand away a flat on one of the points of a piece of 1/8 spar material, and glue the flat blade to it. It should work fine on a prop hanger like you mentioned. Go for it.

Even though I do think my balsa prop will be lighter, I can add weight so each prop assemply weighs the same for trim purposes so I can see if I see a difference in the props themselves.
