A6 update ...
The 11 minute A6 flight hasn't happened, but Bill Gowen did set a new record today at 10:20. Earlier in the day, Bill first broke the record with a 9:51. Gary Hodson had set it on Monday with a 9:43.
Bill's 10:20 flight topped out at about 110' and had a long slow descent. Gary's flights also top out at about the same altitude. Bill's earlier 9:51 flight was different. Using a longer and heavier motor, Bill's model climbed like a #%$_at_ and topped out at about 140'. A knot formed in the motor, and the remaining motor ran out of turns at about 9:20 at about 40'.
Gary broke several motors late in the day as he was trying to match Bill. I expect Gary to counter strongly tomorrow.
