Hello and introduction

Greetings.

I am returning to indoor free flight after a ~30 year hiatus. I think I last flew indoors in probably 1982 when I was still a junior back in the Detroit area. I competed in the state championships at least twice and placed third (IIRC) in one event against the adults.

My wife and I have two kids, Raymond (6) and Emyline (7). They have watched me work on a 1/4 scale glider (ASK-13) for the past 6 months and recently expressed interest in building their own models.

I found a reasonable plan (Denny Dart Mk.2) and over the course of a few nights, we each built one. I ordered a handful of props, a winder (my 20:1 has gone missing over the years), and some rubber. Now I'm looking to find a spot to have them actually get to fly their planes.
Oh, and mine too - I couldn't resist, building one myself just like theirs, then a Blatter 40, and an second DD with lighter wood, condenser paper and ~6" Ikara prop...

I live on the NW of Chicago, in the city itself nearby the old Wright College campus.
