The center scoreboard at Johnson City is a nuisance, for sure, but it's not a problem. It challenges those who want to fly at the highest part of the building, just under the louvers. Some choose to fly there. A more conservative location is one girder over from the scoreboard and far away from trouble.

The Kibbie Dome looks like a great place to fly, but so is the Mini-Dome. It's a different kind of flying. If we compare flight times of rubber events (not gliders) between the two sites, Johnson City comes out on top on almost every event.

You may like Kibbie Dome better than Johnson City, but it is not a much better site than Johnson City.
