Hi All,
It was quite a tense three days I would say with the last possible team slot launching at 6:55 PM in the 8th round as darkness arrived in the hanger. Mark Bennett who cut his thumb and four finger during a repair in the first round put up a flight of 30:10 to miss the team by 2:49. I can't imagine trying to hold one of these F1D's with two bandages on top of hot stuffed fingers can you?
I want to thank Mr. Tyson for the gifts of a balsa stripper and glue bottle that he and his two sons who made the junior team, are selling. I'm now in line for his new stooge as soon as it comes out.
It was fun getting to see my old flying buddy from my Army days Sargent Major Abram VanDover whom I have known since 1961. He got me back in this hobby back then flying with the Ft. Rucker Grasshoppers. He hit me up for $15 for his Indoor News Letter that he produces.
I do hope that somehow the third member of the junior team Icaobellis will be able to make the trip so that the team is full?
Hope to see you all in the spring for team practice at Lakehurst?
                          Thermals to the TEAM
