My tools for sraightening the wire are

1 pair pliers
Fingers

Mk 1 eyeball

The fingers straighten the wire when gripped at one end with pliers; this speeds up the process. Run the wire over a fingernail if necessary.

The Mk 1 eyeball guarantees sufficient accuracy
