The AMA records for LPP for Cat. I ceiling height are:
Junior 7:43
Senior 9:56
Open 16:14
I am not sure what "open" means. I can't see how some other class of person could do six minutes better than the best senior.
Anyway, I recall Cat. I is 25 feet, or thereabouts.
The Grossmont gym is maybe 18 - 19 feet. Then there are those awful roof vents to deal with that seem to push the planes down.
I would think five minutes would be a winning time at Grossmont in the LPP contest, if the contest comes down to the best single flight.
