thanks all for all the comments. very interesting and there is not a final word in this issue.

Of course, the question was for spar not going to be bend. The tips usually comes from another wood piece, in this case A grain on the side bended.

apreciate Harlan comments, vey nice detail to remember the wood is not industrial but a nice tree that grows and we pick the best :)

Phedon say it has to be B grain... why?

the issue i thougt was more complex was if C grain goes in front (face) its prone to break easy than A
