Boy, John, you went back far in the posts in find that. The "all stab wood" comment on the plans pointed to the horizontal stab. The rudder is specifically named in the forword view so it was unclear to me, at the time, if the rudder was also a vertical stab and covered under the stab callout. That is why I brought up that point. I will take your side of this issue anytime.
There are two other points to consider. The plans call out that the wing spars are 0.095" sq. tapered to 0.062" sq. at the tips. The article specifically calls out that the wing spars are double tapered. This double taper point is easy to overlook (I did so). Second, the plan shows no offset on the wing (both sides have equal length). This may present some setup challenges to the non-experts among us.
Finally, I wish the motorstick and tailboom dimensions had been specified. Since the minimum weight has been reduced from that on the plans, the part weights, listed on the plans, no longer apply. I think that beginners building this plane for the USIC event could do with some guidance in that area as I know I would have liked some.
