My free hand holds the straight edge down with the balsa underneath. If what I'm cutting is very narrow I'll put a piece of scrap under the opposite side of the straight edge to keep it from rocking on the pins.

That looks great Bill!. Are you doing anything special to hold the sheets to the table or is the weight of the strait edge enough to keep everything from moving around?
