My favorite rubber stripper is my Blazovich(sp?) from the Ukraine. It is very smooth and accurate. Unfortunately, it is no longer available.
It has a few features that make it different than other strippers.
1. Much larger than most(see the Harlan next to it)
2. Has large, square cut shears, not knife edge.
3. It has a carriage that guides the uncut rubber. Once it is set for the uncut rubber width, you can move the carriage with a single adjustment screw to adjust the cut.

The dial gauge is an inexpensive Enco product. I removed the internal spring and the anvil drops from it's own weight. Much better than trying to guess rubber width with a caliper.
