Thanks, Bill and Ray. Counting winder turns, winder backoff turns, and
winder turns remaining after flight is all that I ever think about. This
causes a problem only if I am helping Wright Stuff SO and the students
are using a 15:1 winder rather than my usual 20:1. Maybe I should think
also in terms of winder turns required/minute of flight time = 3 * RPS.

I never use the counter, and have written here, partially seriously,
that winding count is too important to leave to a counter and that I
need to count to try to aid my focus and concentration. Like Ray, I
probably miscount but rarely know when I do. Jerry Combs once told me
that when mentoring students for the Science Olympiad Wright Stuff
event, that he would yell random numbers while the students were winding
and counting to train them to concentrate! I never actually did that,
but told some students and at least one of them did that to the other as
a joke.
