I use a couple of drops of shampoo as it comes out of the bottle, the green
herbal type.

the knot with saliva before pulling it tight and lubing, rarely get a
break at the knot and it really pulls up tight. Anyone here do this?"
 
Yes, Neil. I've been using saliva for more years than I can recall, probably
learned from my old friend and mentor, Clarence Mather, when we both belonged to
a small model club back in Naperville, IL. I recall only one time that a
"salived" knot pulled loose. Breaks at the knot are seldom seen on indoor or
outdoor motors.
