I have a brother who lives in the vicinity of Moffett Field. There are three hangars, one very large one that once housed the USS Macon, the other two smaller units which were built during WWII to house blimps. He tells me that the big hangar has been off limits for several years because of either asbestos or lead paint "contamination." One of the small hangars is currently in use by the airship "Eureka," the dirigible currently flying sightseeing flights over the San Francisco area. The second small hangar is used for storage.

Interestingly, the big hangar was used for a number of years for regularly scheduled indoor flying and other activities. To my knowledge, no one ever suffered ill effects from their experiences there.
