What do you know? What you know is how to fix a problem. Thanks! I hope this gets done.

If it was me, I'd quit calling it the SO Invitational and start calling it the USIC SO Open. But what do I know?

Last year Tom Sanders put out the word with an announcement on the SO website, and this was the extent of the invitational. We went out of our way to keek it from being elitist.
I think the turnout of young people like Kang, Elizabeth He, and Katie Bosman was great. I was not privy to positive or negative feedback.

Bill,
I was thinking this would be conducted the same way that the Wright Stuff events were done using the word the same way it was used then. I've been trying to find out just who did the "inviting" and how it was published. I kind of thought the same folks who invited Wright Stuff participants would follow suit with Helicopter but I wasn't involved heavily in the Wright Stuff events, in fact this will be my first USIC in several years. So basically I'm just trying to get discussions rolling on the topic and hopefully more knowledgeable people will chime in. Looks like it's working.

Exactly what do you mean with the term "invitational"?

Hey Gang,
Below is a link to the Science Olympiad Student Center Forum. This is a good place to follow what's happening in Science Olympiad and to help with with questions kids and coaches are asking especially with the Helicopter Event. I will organizing the Science Olympiad Helicopter invitational at USIC this year and could use all the help I can get in promoting discussions on the topic and besides that the kids could really use the help of experienced modelers with their designs and flight problems.
