I use CA glue in microscopic amounts using the finest teflon tube with a
hole of only .008" DIA. The tubing is available from my list of goodies
for anyone interested. I spot glue first at 2inch intervals to hold it
securely and then I use Ambroid or Duco to finalize it.

Congratulations on F1M flight. As regards boron, I always degrease it
before applying and I'm sure this helps. However, if Ambroid is the
adhesive, it's still all too easy for local separation to occur. I now
use Duco or similar since it has more contact strength and dry joints
which cause separation areless likely to occur. I also test each
component eg a wing spar by bending locallyto compress the boron and
correct as necessary. Once the component passes the test without fault,
it's ready for use.

Bill. First of all that is a remarkable F1M. Cat1 flight Congratulations.
Essentially I think Boron and balsa are incompatible in the long term. I
find it necessary to check for small areas where separation has taken
place
before each flying session. Several years ago Derek Richards suggested to
me
that wiping the boron with tissue and acetone improved the bond. I think
he
was right and I now do this. Geoffrey
