Leroy,
Yes it is very stable. When we've tested in the gym, on occasion it will get
upset in the rafters, even temporarily hung in the rafters and then fall out
inverted, it actually will recover from a verticle dive and go back straight up.
I wouldn't begin to try to explain the forces at work but work it does!
