I'm "scared" of losing track of a boron splinter that someone else gets impaled and not knowing what it is. So, I'm happy to scrape my hand across a carpet or workspace if a strong light can't "find" an errant splinter. (Ya, I know about tape capture, adhesive board, etc.) Presumably a Kibbie Dome remodeler worker has had to deal with my boron-laced OPP, lost behind the tiles. For all I know he thought it might make a shortlived toy for a child. Anyhow, it's not exactly irrational to swear off boron use, IMO.
