Today in sunny southern California it rained all day, the wind blew and it was cold. We who were trying to fly lightweights didn't get much done because of a lot of air movement inside the hangar - which is basically what happened my last trip to Lakehurst.
It was also one of the strangest days of flying I've ever had. I pulled out my F1M thinking it would blast thru most any turbulence but it refused to climb. Then I switched to LPP and things got really weird.
LPP quarter motor times:
3:15, 1:30, 5:09
Followed by half motor flights:
4:48, 8:40 (which was over 100' up at 6 1/2 minutes and landed at 8:40)
Then a full motor flight that hit the top of the hangar in about 2 1/2 minutes and hung followed by a full motor flight that went up about 50' and landed in about 8 minutes.
The rain seems to have stopped so we're hoping for better conditions tomorrow.
