Well, I've blown my cover. I went ahead, without consulting, and am
forwarding this to Abram VanDover, the USIC CD, the Yahoo Free Flight
mailing list, and the Yahoo Indoor_Construction mailing list.
The rules for this event are at
http://soinc.org/sites/default/files/uploaded_files/Wright%20Stuff-Capacitor.pdf
David Mills wants this Science Olympiad trial event added to the 2011
USIC. I agree. Should be flown with heavier events and times will be 1-5
minutes, I believe. Thanks for starting all this, Chuck Markos.

Chuck and all,
All this sounds good to me. I'd loved to see WS Cap flown in some
fashion in Johnson City. I've relayed all this to my indoor guys at
TTOMA, Bill Gowen and John Barker.
I can see this being taken up by youths with as much or more ease
than twisting rubber bands. Kids today have been charging batteries and
operating gizmos their whole lives.
A little context here. Recent rules chnages taking effect 1/1/11
will significantly increase the amount of outdoor electric flying next
year. I'd like to see the same thing happen indoors, too. It's in the
intersts of our hobby and sport.

Hi everyone,
Fred has the right idea. The more that do likewise the better the
chances of getting this event into the SO rotation becomes.
FYI, the rules for the event are now on the SO web site in the list of
trial events...named Wright Stuff Capacitor. For those of you
unfamiliar with the SO new event process, it seems that very few
schools place any priority on trial events for regionals and/or
invitationals. However, at the state tournaments, practically every
school has someone participating the trial events.
Let's hear from some other states.

David Stanislawski and Jeff Kovac,
Previously on 10/27/2010, I sent you two the rules for the Science
Olympiad E-Wright Stuff trial event. Would you please add this event
to the TN State Science Olympiad Finals?
I have built a plane for this event and flown it on four separate
days. The rules and the event still appear to be good. Chuck Markos is
promoting this as a trial event in Illinois and he has other SO
mentors/free flight model plane contacts other than me also seeking
trial event scheduling in VA, GA, NY, LA, CO, OR, and KS. It is
intended that this event rotate annually with other aircraft events.
The capacitor (electric) Wright Stuff event will be an official trial
event at the National tournament. Chuck Markos has already been
invited to supervise this event.
Additional information can be obtained from Chuck Markos or me.
Thank you.
