Hi Gert-Jan
there's a couple of boxes in the Photos section - a link below to a couple of styles.

I am no expert on this.... but first i think is to decide what you want the box for... do you want somewhere to protect and store your model at home and short trips to venues - or will you be travelling on planes etc?

My first box was made out of foamcore board and just had a couple of shelves in it where I could 'drop' the wings in. And a shelf at the bottom with soft sponge foam blocks to hold the motorsticks and props.

The lid was 'shoebox' type with lip around the edge. It was only intended to protect the model at home and in my car travelling to nearby venues - it worked fine.

The foamcore I used was not great quality and started delaminating after a few months.

The new one is made of plywood and designed within international airline 'carry-on' luggage limits. Have a look at the Photos section on this site for a few other flyers examples.

I won't get round to finishing mine for a few weeks, I'll be away from the workshop for a bit - but will put some pics up when it's done in case that's useful. Again, I am not an expert, but you may be able to learn from my mistakes!

cheers
Tim
