Unfortunately, I do not think thinning most PVC solvet cements will help with the weight. Most such cements contain amorphous silca (ground up glass) so the minimum thickness of the film, even after the solvents evaporate, is limited by the silica particle size. I was surprised that the weight of Bill's film was only 4.6 grams per meter squared (probably about 4 microns thick). This is only twice the weight (and thickness) of the current PPP and (non-super) Ultrafilm that are used on the heavier indoor planes, like SO.
However Bill and Tom, you guys, don't use microfilm in your record setting LPP's and F1M's do you :)? Yeah, I thought not;).
