I use an extension arm made from balsa which gives a 10:1 increase in sensitivity. The fulcrum is the other side of the weighing pan from the item to be weighed so that the the load on the pan is 10 times the weight of the item. This removes any problem of static electricity generated by cutting rubber since the rubber is well separated from the scale. Works very well with my Gem Pro. The whole assy is a flat pack for easy transport in the toolbox.
