Several years ago I made a comment on the FFML about how F1D flyers wind slowly to avoid heat buildup. I got roundly attacked for advancing such a preposterous idea to the guys who know everything about rubber.

  Don't F1B flyers use heating jackets to keep their (wound) motors warm on cold flying days? Does that make the rubber contract? And what does that do to the torque?
