    I used them when I was a kid, I used my Mums hair spray to keep the blades from spliting, hope this might help.

just an off the cuff question but has anyone ever tried using bird feathers in constructing prop blades?
obviously some sort of glue perhaps cyano to consolidate the individual folicles into an unbroken sheet?
