Precisely. When you take the scale apart, it is quite modular.
PCB+buttons+display connected by 4 leads to the strain gauge element,
and another 2 to the battery holder. So if you use the bare gauge
element, you can as well place the display facing forward.

Now I'm packing to leave to Vilnius for the two (outdoor FF) World Cup
contests there over the weekend, so will only go on with the tq meter
next week.
