I unscrewed open one 100g/0.01g scale that I have. Unfortunately it
seems, that the electronics is quite well integreated; probably all the
intelligence of the scale is in one chip underneath a black blob of
epoxy. There are 4 wires coming from the weighting unit, and I tried to
measure voltage over these, but it disturbed the reading of the meter.
So no easy way to hack into the "data" of the scale. The only thing that
I can think of is to get into the display, that probably is controlled
via serial interface (the 18 pins cannot turn each unit in the display
on and off), but that would be quite complicated.

The good news is that the scale should be quite easily hacked open to
integrate the load cell and display into the torque meter.
