Your prop shape is preventing the steering rod from staying on the prop. You have a flaring prop with pretty much a flat trailing edge. If you use a symmetrical shape you'll find that it holds on much better. In fact, then you'll have to do the little "down and the the left" maneuver to disengage it rather that just moving forward.
