Hey, I only won 8 of the raffle prizes and I did not win the winder. I did buy a great deal of tickets (Norm did not leave me much time to check out all of my ticket numbers when he was drawing the numbers!). Don DeLoach went around asking for contributions to help defray the costs of the event (so that Stan B. would break even). I figured that I would just buy more raffle tickets with the money I said I would contribute to the costs. BTW, Jim Buxton did the same and came away with a few prizes, too.
As at the USIC, raffles are a good way to make up any event costs. Buying raffle tickets is a good way to contribute and the possibility of winning prizes is a good incentive to contribute. So, at the USIC, do not be a cheapskate - buy raffle tickets!
