RE: [freeflightml] turbulators

Since Ultra Film doesn’t change trim with changes in relative humidity as
condenser paper does and since this novice finds Ultra Film easier to work
with than condenser paper, is their any chance of getting the condenser
paper requirement removed from the A-6 rules when the indoor board votes?

Gary

On a related subject I have submitted A-6 as an official AMA event for 2011.
Hopefully the indoor board will vote to allow it in.

Sergio,

Thanks for the very clear explaination. It all makes sense & I am beginning
to think experimenting with turbulators in this application may be a waste
of time.
The A6 rules require a minimum 1/16" square leading & trailing edge. I have
tried rotating the square leading edge 45 degrees from that shown in your
diagram. This gives a more streamlined leading edge but I cannot say if it
is better or worse. I guess I could also build a tapered leading edge as
long as it was large enough to contain a 1/16" square.
