Go to the Indoor Construction Yahoo group/Files/Simplex
Fred Rash's program will plot any simple airfoil you want based on % camber. After you plot the curve, you can draw a line from the leading edge to any point on the curved surface to get any wing cord you want & the resulting curve will still be a simplex curve with the specified %. Maybe someone can explain this in a clearer way!

Thank you Kevin,
I appreciate knowing the correct terminology. It will help me better explain my questions.
Now going back to my original question of the arc to draw and how to obtain it via formula rather than calculator, is there a formula????

Also, when given a small plan (not to scale) and the wing called for is a 5% simplex airfoil (ran across a plan last night), now we're not talking about a simple uniform arc; how would I go about drawing the simplex airfoil to scale?
