The most interesting part of this to me is to watch the bird's muscles operating it's wings in a hover while the bird's head is absolutely motionless. It's beyond my considerable imagination how this is even possible.
But...
I have a camera on the way that will do this - and take shots of glider launches! Casio EX-FS10 - $168 at Amazon.
