I don't know the answer to your question about SO but he could go and enter the LPP Pro-Am event without even having to build a model. Besides, I'm sure that if he entered USIC and brought his SO model he could find a time to fly it for fun even if there were no event for it.

Do any of you have any insight into the possible event schedule for the '10 USIC in E-town? I've got an 8th grader in my group of SO kids that has expressed a bit of interest. It's beginning to look as if he will miss the cut for the actual SO teams for his middle school - not enough "cross-event skills". But, since his dad has lots of full-scale aviation interest, there is some parental interest in possibly taking him to the USIC, especially if there was an event he could enter. So, is there going to be an SO event this year?
