Bill has perfectly summarised why I have chosen only to use boron on the motor stick if it needs it; nowhere else. If so, the wood selection could be improved. In this respect I regard 35 cm as being the ultimate class since there is no weight limit.

Has anyone tried using boron for outlines on the super light models such as AROG and 35 cm? I've been doing some experiments, and it seems viable, and much more durable than, say, .015 sq balsa, but I don't have a scale that can give me any idea of the weight penalty. Surely I'm not the first person to think of this, so there must be a reason it's not the common practice. Someone care to educate me?
