I would recommend some good strong balsa perhaps with carbon fibre reinforcement for the fuselage. I believe that depron is too easily crushed and won't survive bad nosedives. Make the noseweight with plenty of plasticene or modelling clay so that it can squash on impact and absorb some of the energy.

  Subject: [Indoor_Construction] Strengthening depron-fuselage for Catapult-launch glider?

i have depron of 4mm thickness to be used as fuselage, for 30cm wingspan catapult-launch glider.i tried depron without any reinforcement and handlaunched and fuse got broken on nose-dive at the nose.

  Problems:
1.How should i strengthen a 4mm depron fuselage for catapult-launch glider 0f 30cm wingspan to withstand any harsh nosedives?
2.what should i provide at the nose of depron so that when rubber-band is extended for catapult-launch at the depron, depron doesnt get teared?
