I would try cigarette lighter fluid. It is likely to dissolve the 3M 77 or other spray adhesive if the film in question is already on a framework. I use it to soften UHU and similar foam glues and to remove other sticky non-water based contact adhesives. Just remember that it is designed to be flammable. Also inhalation should be minimized.
